We had a great time at Lyndsey and Jim’s wedding in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Whats more fun than hanging out all day with an awesome bride and groom on their wedding day, laughing, joking and taking photos? Well, I’ll tell ya. Taking that same fun, way in love couple and doing a photoshoot after all the pressures of the wedding day are over. Add to it some if the crazy stuff you see downtown Wilmington, a few dirty alleys and jumping in the ocean and you’ve got a pretty sweet trash the dress session! So thats what we did! We started our Rock The Dress photo session by saying hi to a few friends at one of the coolest venues in Wilmington, The River Room. From there we just relaxed and I let Lyndsey and Jim tour the riverfront portion of Wilmington. Coffee, musical buckets and the key fence all led up to our short ride to Wrightsville Beach where we all jumped in the ocean for some awesome shots of the newlyweds from a different perspective. Sessions like this are called by many names and can vary quite a bit from mild to wild! “Trash The Dress” portrait sessions, “Rock The Dress” photography, or just “Day After” the wedding portrait sessions are a blast, and we strongly encourage our couples to consider doing such a photo session. We often run specials for cheap trash the dress sessions and during a few months we even run a promotion where we give away Rock The Dress portrait sessions for free when you sign up for a wedding photography package, so keep an eye out for those! The main advantage of doing a session like this is that the newly married couple are able to relax, take their time and have fun while getting some fun, unique photos. The photos tell a story of who they are as a couple and they create memories for a last time!
