McConnell Family Maternity Portraits, Walt Disney World!

Who loves Disney? THIS GIRL! It’s no secret that Disney world is one of my favorite things ever, so when Quin told me she would love to do maternity photos on our vacation to the happiest place on earth i was super excited! I mean- Wilmington, NC is gorgeous and we love photographing our wonderful clients here but its hard to pass up an opportunity to do a session in Disney! So we did The weather was amazing- 80 degrees in January- perfect in my book- and the crowds were low so we had plenty of space to play around. Even Noah was sweet enough to take a few minutes out of roller coaster riding, character meeting, and magic carpet flying to jump in a few photos and show baby Ezra and mom-to-be some love. It’s easy to see he’s going to be a GREAT big brother <3

Jon, Quin, and Noah were great! Baby Ezra is a fortunate little man. We are so excited for you guys- David and i can’t wait to meet that little bundle!

Catey & Kyle Engaged! Fort Fisher, NC

OK- so i’m way overdue to show our much neglected blog and our super awesome clients some love

Catey and Kyle’s engagement portraits were a bit of first for us… they were in the morning!! The light was bound to be gorgeous and we were very excited! So down we went to Kure Beach/ Fort Fisher, NC. I think David was nervous because i’m a bit of bear in the morning but i had coffee so it was all good, and even better when we got there Catey had her thermos in hand too! Yay coffee buddies! This was a special weekend for Catey and Kyle- it was their dating anniversary! I want to say ~~8 years~~?! 5 years?! (Catey and Kyle feel free to correct me in the comments). So we all set off bright eyed and bushy tailed to get some great shots. These two were so incredibly sweet together- it was easy to get those flirty smiles and some goofy, fun, hilariousness too. They were jumping, using props, cracking jokes- very PG Disney type jokes (which we love!) but jokes nonetheless. We had a blast. At Fort Fisher there is so much variety- beach, rocks, marsh, oak trees, sandspurs*- you may even see a wardrobe change Catey told us before we even met that she loves “ugly photos” we usually call them “out takes”- so we threw in one silly face photo towards the end just for you <3

We absolutely cannot wait to photograph these two on their wedding day- come on already July!!!

Hair flip awesomeness!Oh yeah- we’re just hanging out…BAM!

I am so happy i got the chance to meet this sweet family! They were in Carolina Beach on a family vacation and sincce they were all already together why not take that opportunity to get portraits done! So we went out for a sunset shoot which made for some really sweet light. Hope you enjoy!

Summer & Joel Engaged!

Today i finaly get to share this great nautical engagement session from April! Summer- another one of our awesome brides from The Knot, decided to do her engagement and bridal session in Cornelius North Carolina near her parent’s home. We had a fantastic time and David got the opportunity to see the gorgeous spot on Lake Norman where their backyard ceremony would be taking place as well as their reception venue The peninsula Club. Both served as completely amazing backdrops! Summer and Joel could not be more perfect for one another- both Clemson University alumni and proud of it! They were also on Clemson’s swim teams and we are so happy they decided to incorporate that in the shoot- it made for a very awesomely unique and personal ring shot. These two were beaming and completely adorable together… but enough blabbering- check out these lovebirds below! Wedding post to come soon!

Jenileigh & Jared’s Mountain Engagement Session

This is quite possibly our favorite engagement session to date! Since we are based in Wilmington the closest we get to a mountain or hill or any interesting landscape… is a big sandcastle. So we were over the moon excited when Jenileigh and Jared wanted to do their engagement session near her parents home in the North Carolina mountains! (Not to mention their amazing Valle Crucis, NC wedding but we’ll get to that in a bit!!We cannot wait to get share the wedding photos in the coming weeks! Thanks for being completely awesome!

The Hunt {Family}

As usual… our blog has been pretty neglected due to a the busy wedding season but i’m ready to get caught up!! At least a little We got to photograph this sweet family (personal friends) in March. We decided on beautiful Fort Anderson/Brunswicktown which is just a short drive from Downtown Wilmington, NC but feels like a completely different world… we love it! After a pit stop at Port City Java (a must!) we made our way to the photo session. Paternal Grandparents and Great-Grandmother were even along for the ride. This little girl is possibly the sweetest, most photogenic little lady! I had an absolute blast- it’s hard to beat working with friends.
